weekend recap

We made it out to the pumpkin field Saturday morning.

As always, Dave picked one of the biggest pumpkins in the field.

The weather was awesome and I was having fun taking a few pictures until I spotted a badger hole.  Yeahhh... I pretty much just picked out my pumpkins as fast as I could and then got the heck out of there.

I was going to take some picture of the pumpkins on our deck, but my mums are dying quickly so not sure if I'll get to that or not.

We went to the Special Olympics softball tournament that afternoon to watch a two of my current and two of my former students play.

We had planned to go to a movie that night but we decided to go out for supper and then hang out at home.

Sunday was just a laid back day of football watching and hanging out around home.

Hope you're all have a great week.  Two more days til the weekend! I can't wait...I'm wiped out this week.

four for friday

1. Fall! Woo hoo! Our forecasted high for tomorrow is 57 degrees. I'm hoping to do some fall activities this weekend like bake something pumpkin and head out to the pumpkin fields.

2. I didn't do a weekend recap for last weekend because there wasn't a whole lot to tell.  We went to Sioux Falls on Saturday for awhile and watched the Vikings game on Sunday. Otherwise we just did things around home.

3. One of my former co-workers gave birth yesterday to her son who is now in Heaven. She has a blog (here) that tells about her pregnancy. Please say a prayer for them, if you would.

4. To end on a lighter note, I found this post on Pinterest last night. Oh my gosh, I was laughing so hard I had tears in my eyes. Yes, I still find farting just as funny as I did when I was 12. Sue me.

That's all I got. Hope ya have a great weekend!

five for friday

1. It's Friday. Finally. Man it felt like a long week. Now that it's Friday night, it seems like it went so fast though.

2. We have no plans for the weekend. Nothing.

3. I stumbled upon a Christmas tumblr a little while ago. I'm sitting here listening to Christmas music right now. :o) Did you know it's only 100 days til Christmas?

4. I noticed earlier this week that the mums that I planted a couple weeks ago are changing colors.  My whites are turning purple and my maroons are turning yellow.  I've never had that happen before.

5. I'm about to watch this movie. Hopefully it doesn't suck. I wanted to get The Lucky One but it was out at the Redbox.  I figured it's a good night for girly movies since Dave is working.

Happy weekend! Hope you have a good one! :o)

weekend recap

Dave and I left Friday morning for our weekend of Minnesota fun.  We had supper at Joe's Crab Shack that evening.  We shared a steampot and it was so good!  Looking awesome in our bibs:

We did a little shopping after supper at a nearby mall.  I went into HomeGoods....umm...Heaven!! I've never been in one since we don't have any in SD and now I really feel like we're missing out!  I love that store!  I didn't buy anything but saw lots of things I would have liked to have.

Saturday morning we went to the Mall of America.  We went into a few stores but mostly just walked around and people watched.  We had lunch at Dick's Last Resort in the mall.  Let me just say that I effing hate that place. Seriously.  I love sarcasm but being treated like an ass I do not.  So...moving on.

We headed to the Twins game later that afternoon.  It was the second Twins game I've been to but the first one at Target Field.  It is such a nice stadium!  We attended the game with Tony, Jackie, Sarah, and Conor.

It was a good time, and the Twins beat the Indians 3-0.  We even got to see a fan propose to his girlfriend on the big screen. :o)

Sunday morning, Tony, Conor, Dave, and I headed to Mall of America Field for the Vikings game.  As you can see, Conor is a Jacksonville Jaguars fan...see how ashamed he is to be wearing that jersey? ;o).

So, we rode the train down to the stadium.  It was packed and getting off at the platform was a little overwhelming just because there was such a rush of people.  At one point we were walking in the crowd of people and I grabbed Dave's arm so I wouldn't lose him.  I quickly realized it wasn't Dave I was hanging onto but some random guy.  I said, "Oops, that's not my husband!"  Him and his friend laughed and I felt like a dumb*ss.  Oh well.

This was my first time at a NFL game and I loved every minute of it!

A few things I learned while at the game:

**watching this guy in person is even more awesome than on TV

**the people watching is fantastic at a NFL game.  This guy was his own brand of special:
You can see part of his sweet suit that was made of some sort of a ribbed purple velour and cheetah print fabric.  But, that puppet on his hand really made the outfit.  He even made the arms punch in time with the fight song.  Just looking at that picture now makes me laugh.

**drunk guy dancing trumps cheerleader dancing every time

I seriously had the best time and can't wait until we can go back again.  Oh, and the Vikings beat the Jaguars in OT, 26-23. :o)
