How I am feeling
This week was very good to me.  I had very little nausea and my energy level is getting so much better.  I showered before work a couple time this week (I had been showering at night so I could sleep in longer in the mornings) and wore make-up to work every day (hadn't worn any make-up since January).  I even baked cookies for Dave one evening after school and did a little organizing which is pretty amazing since the past ten weeks I have pretty much come home from school and planted my butt on the couch.

What do I miss
Not much of anything at this point.

Gender prediction
Dave is 100% sure it's a boy.  Yesterday we were trying to decide where to go out for lunch and he said, "You and my son can decide."  I keep telling him we need to come up with some girls names because I think it's a girl but he isn't budging.

Food cravings
Nothing too overwhelming this week. Ohhh...I did have a coworker walk past me with a cup of coffee the other day and it made me want a cup so badly.  I hate anything coffee flavored so that was a weird one.

Food aversions
Thankfully, nothing really bothered me this past week.

Highlights this week
-We started cleaning out the office yesterday so we can turn it into the nursery.  We took a box and six bags of stuff to Goodwill.  We also got a lot of stuff boxed up that we will be storing.  There is still a lot to do in there but it felt good to get a start on it.
-Starting to feel like myself again.

Now I need to brag on my husband a little bit.  He has been amazing the past few months.  He did all the cleaning, laundry, and cooking while I laid around exhausted and nauseated for several weeks and didn't say a thing about it.  And then today he surprised me with some "just because" flowers. :o)

Baby's Weight: 0.81 oz.

How I am feeling
Well, if I would have written this post yesterday I would have said this week was pretty awesome.  I had very little nausea this week and my energy level is improving.  Today has been a little rough though.  I've been extremely nauseated and just about lost my breakfast this morning but I was able to keep it down, thankfully.

What do I miss
Sleeping through the night.  I get up to use the bathroom every night at least once.  I almost always wake up at 1:30 am to head to the bathroom.  For some reason after this bathroom trip, I'm awake for at least an hour before I drift off again. So annoying!

Gender prediction
Dave - boy  Me - not sure.  Only another 6 weeks or so until we find out though!

Food cravings
None this week.

Food aversions
Pretty much anything I used in the beginning weeks to help out with the nausea - ginger ale, lemon drops, SweetTarts, saltines

Highlights this week
-Entering the second trimester

Not so great moments this week
-Finding out I was misinformed about how much leave I can take for maternity leave.  I can only take 6 weeks, and I was planning to take 8.  Not sure how we're going to work that out since our daycare doesn't take infants until 8 weeks of age.
-Had my thyroid level re-checked and found out it had not dropped at all.  The doctor upped my dosage so hopefully that will get things moving in the right direction.

week 12

Baby’s size

Your baby is almost three inches long now, about the size of a passion fruit. Fingernails, toenails, and bones are forming, and a fine layer of hair covers most of her body.
Baby's Length: 2.13 in.
Baby's Weight: 0.49 oz.

How I am feeling
I had several days this week where I had very little nausea, which was awesome.  I had a scary moment this past week though too.  As we were leaving my uncle's service at the cemetery, I started having some low, sharp cramping.  It had us both pretty worried but thankfully they went away after about an hour and no other symptoms accompanied the cramps.

What do I miss
Nothing much at this point.

Gender prediction
Dave - boy.  Me - leaning back towards girl this week

Food cravings
I don't think I had any cravings this past week.

Food aversions
Everything, sort of.  Pretty much all week I would get my food ready for a meal and as I would sit down to eat I would think "this looks disgusting, there is no way I can eat this".  But, I was always able to eat so apparently it was just a visual aversion more than anything.

Highlights this week
*I had my 12 week doctor appointment on Friday.  I was able to hear the baby's heart beat again, which was at 150 bpm.
*We have agreed on a boy's name.  Well, the first name anyway.  We haven't discussed any middle names yet.
*Not feeling pukey all the time.

week 11

Baby’s size

Your baby is about the size of a Brussels sprout. From now through week 20 of your pregnancy, he'll increase 30-fold in weight and triple in length.

Baby's Weight: 0.25 oz.

How I am feeling
Well, the morning sickness eased up a bit at the end of this week and I thought maybe my energy level was coming back up too.  After school on Friday, I had enough energy to do a little shopping at Walmart and get a few things cleaned up around here.  But, I've been super tired all weekend again so maybe not.

What do I miss
Sleeping through the night.  I get up at least once every night to pee and some nights I have a hard time going back to sleep because of nausea and/or hunger pains.  I realize this is just the beginning of losing sleep at night though.

Gender prediction
Dave - boy    Me - no strong feeling though I have been leaning more towards boy this week

Food cravings
I didn't have any real strong cravings this week but I am loving milk lately.

Food aversions
Mint.  Granola bars - yuck, any type.

Highlights this week
We put a deposit down to hold a spot at a daycare this week.  One of my friends that I used to work with at a daycare center has run her own home daycare for several years now.  She is the only person in town that I know who runs a daycare who we 100% trust with the care of our baby.  So, we were pretty excited to find out that she would have an opening in November/December.

Remembering...

Remembering my uncle, Darrel, who passed away yesterday.  God finally healed his broken heart and took him home to reunite with his wife.

week 10

Baby’s size

Baby's Weight: 0.14 ounce

How I am feeling
Uff da.  This was a rough week.  Morning sickness decided to arrive and stick around all day, every day.  Most nights were pretty rough too.

What do I miss
Not feeling nauseated all day.

Gender prediction
Dave still thinks boy. I've had less of a pull either way this week.

Food cravings
No cravings this week that have stuck around.  Passing cravings have been red jello with mixed fruit and Cool Whip on top, banana bread, chocolate cake, and watermelon.

Food aversions
Mint is still a pretty big one.  Saltine crackers are another.  I tried to eat some this week but just couldn't do it.  I ate 2 or 3 sleeves back when I had the stomach flu so I think it just brought back that feeling as I tried to eat them.

Highlights this week
Subway.  My nurse told me that I could eat at Subway as long as I got a toasted sub.  So Thursday night I picked up a sub for supper.  It tasted so good and I felt amazing for about an hour and a half after I ate.
